From Afghanistan

UK operations in Afghanistan are conducted under the name Operation HERRICK.

12th Mechanized Brigade has taken over from 20th Armoured Brigade as the lead formation of troops in Helmand province, responsible for Task Force Helmand.

Operation HERRICK 16 runs from April 2011 until September 2012. Soldiers and Officers will be  blogging from the units that make up 12th Mechanized Brigade in Afghanistan.
